Two subjects got out of a red Ford EcoSport truck and began shooting at the Toyota vehicle.
Initially, one of the attackers opened fire with a pistol. The second shooter then used a 12-gauge automatic rifle and fired several shots at the vehicle.
Subsequently, the subjects returned to the Ford EcoSport, changed weapons and resumed shooting, both at the car and at the victim's residence.
The homicide attempt was unsuccessful due to the vehicle's armor, which made the difference between life and death. The driver of the vehicle was only shot in the shoulder and was treated in the hospital without the injury being life-threatening.
After the attack, the three subjects tried to escape with the truck, but they were unable to do so and had to abandon the vehicle in the middle of the street, fleeing on foot towards a wooded area, about 200 meters from the residence.
The 38th Military Police Battalion was called, went to the scene and isolated the area to carry out reconnaissance until the arrival of the Civil Police. The case is being investigated as an attempted homicide and, to date, the motives for the crime are unknown.
