A shocking video that began circulating this Monday (16th) shows a man who almost died while doing bench presses in a gym in Taiwan.
In the images you can see the athlete struggling to lift the bar, which ends up falling directly on his neck due to lack of strength, leaving him gasping for air.
The case, captured by the man himself, reveals that he begins to show signs of weakness after about 10 seconds with the weight on him.
Unable to free himself from the bar, he becomes desperate and begins to convulse, while the equipment continues to press on his windpipe.
Fortunately, other gym-goers intervened quickly and were able to remove the bar in time to avoid a tragedy.
The man was taken to the hospital, received medical attention and, despite the scare, is out of danger.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among fitness fans and the gym community. Many have begun sharing the video to raise awareness about the importance of having a training partner when performing weight lifting exercises, especially in movements as dangerous as the bench press.
Training experts have pointed out that it is always advisable to maintain a safety protocol. “You should never train alone,” they warn. “Injuries can happen in the blink of an eye, and quick help can be the difference between a serious situation and just a scare.”
