Details of the case of an American found with two girls in Medellín revealed

Used condoms, marijuana and even a 10-year-old boy was used as a “bell ringer” so that the two minors could enter the luxurious hotel at dawn.

After investigations, more information is known about the case of Timothy Alan Livingston, the American tourist accused of abusing two minors.

Councilor Andrés Tobón, who was Secretary of Security of Medellín, revealed that the two girls, aged 12 and 13, did not live with their families, but rather remained locked in a house in the Manrique neighborhood that was apparently guarded by a criminal group, allegedly dedicated to the issue of sexual and commercial exploitation of children in El Poblado.

The newspaper El Tiempo also revealed details of how the authorities found the American citizen in the room on the fifth floor of the Gotham hotel.

It turned out that apart from the two girls, there would be a third 10-year-old minor, who served as a "bell ringer" so that the minors could enter the luxurious hotel in the early hours of Thursday, March 28.

Likewise, it was learned that when the authorities arrived at the scene with at least 12 Children and Adolescents police officers, they found Livingston with the girls inside a jacuzzi where he would have consumed drugs.

"The man had the marijuana cigarettes around the jacuzzi, in a kind of jar. And he had removed the smoke sensors so that the alarms would not be activated... And the hotel door opening card was on a counter smeared with cocaine pink. Additionally, there were five used condoms in the bathroom,” the police report reads.

Despite this situation, the site of the event was not protected, losing evidence of criminalistic interest, such as: a bottle with marijuana cigarette butts, as well as the scene being contaminated, where even one of the police officers used the same bathroom. Livingston.

On the other hand, no one sealed the room, so the hotel employees cleaned the room, thus throwing away any other items of interest.

For now, the Prosecutor's Office is trying to determine if there was poor police procedure, even "prevarication" on the part of the agents who handled the case.

A similar investigation was initiated by the police themselves seeking to clarify why the foreigner was not made available to the Prosecutor's Office and why he did not remain detained despite the evidence found.
