Military Police die and his body is eaten by his own dogs.
The man had six dogs on the farm that had not eaten for two weeks, the police presume that they ate the body out of hunger.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, the police are waiting for the forensic examination to determine the causes of his death.
The Civil Police is investigating whether there is any involvement in the death of military police officer Clédio Vilela Cardoso, 53, who, after his death, was devoured by dogs on a farm in Pirenópolis, on the outskirts of the Federal District.
On Sunday the 21st, a group of friends who missed him at church masses approached his home and were surprised to find that his remains were lying on the ground outside the house next to a table and a chair.
According to police chief Tibério Martins, police initially believed that Clédio was ill, as there was no apparent blood or signs of violence at the scene.
However, they are now awaiting the results of the forensic examination to determine if there was any intentional act on the part of a criminal that took his life.
“The tissues of the body can no longer be analyzed, but the police can still check the bones to see if there are any trauma, fractures or signs of violence. If there is evidence that there was action by third parties, the police will investigate to determine this fact in detail,” said the investigator.
Martins also said that family members will be interviewed to find out if Clédio suffered from any illness that could have caused his death.
Clédio joined the Military Police (PM) in 2000 and was currently in reserve. He lived alone on a farm in the rural area of Pirenópolis and was last seen by a neighbor on April 8.
According to Martins, the retired military man lost his son in 2019 and was in mourning. His friends say his mental health was not very good.
The police reported that Clédio raised six dogs on the farm and that they had not eaten for two weeks. “The dogs probably ate the body out of hunger,” he said.
