More than two tons of cocaine are seized on a plane from Venezuela in Africa.

West Africa, once just a transit area for Latin American drugs, has now become a region of high consumption.

The Judicial Police of Guinea-Bissau, west of Africa, seized this Saturday more than 2,600 kilograms of cocaine from a plane from Venezuela. In the middle of the operation, the crew, made up of two Mexicans, a Colombian, an Ecuadorian and a Brazilian, was detained.

The operation was carried out on Saturday, September 7 at 1:46 p.m., at the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport in Bissau, in collaboration with the DEA and the Maritime Analysis and Operations Center for Drug Trafficking in Lisbon, which involves seven countries. of the European Union, as well as other local security forces.

The detainees must appear before the Bissau Regional Court for their first interrogation, while the investigation will attempt to dismantle the entire trafficking network.
