While reading a book on the street, the president of the Community Action Board of the María Eugenía de Barrancabermeja neighborhood was attacked by two men who arrived on a motorcycle and pulled out a firearm.
At that moment, the leader's dog began to bark, alerting Yesid Vera, who managed to run away. Despite being chased by an armed hitman for more than a block, he finally managed to save his life.
For the moment, the leader has decided not to give more details about what happened. The Magdalena Medio Police have not yet offered details of the incident, and they mentioned that they are waiting for a formal complaint. A special team from Sijin has already begun investigations.
"We are waiting for the formal complaint on social networks to begin investigating and clarifying the facts. We have assigned a special group of investigators to obtain more information about what happened," the police stated.
