They were trying to smuggle 73 kilos of gold bars to Türkiye, hidden in their baby stroller.

Two Israeli citizens from Dubai were caught at Istanbul airport while trying to smuggle 73 kilos of gold bars to Turkey, hidden in their baby's stroller.

The moment the police approached the suspicious passenger and searched the stroller was captured on security cameras.

Istanbul Airport Police Department Investigation Office teams closely followed the suspects, who arrived from Dubai on April 21.

The disembarkation of the Israeli passengers and their departure from customs were monitored step by step with security cameras.

The Israeli passengers were stopped as they exited the gate of the international terminal and taken to the X-ray area for body searches.

During the radiological control, the agents searched the stroller and found a bag hidden under it, which when opened revealed 73 gold bars of 1 kilo each destined for smuggling in Turkey.

The gold was confiscated and the suspects were arrested. One of them was released under judicial control, while the other was sent to prison.
