Surveillance cameras captured the moment when a criminal on a motorcycle tried to rob a nurse and was run over by a driver in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
According to the Military Police, the incident occurred around 2 p.m., on Levindo de Souza Avenue, in the Umuarama neighborhood.
In the video, the criminal is seen approaching the victim, a 28-year-old, unidentified nurse, who appears scared and crying just when a passing driver detects the criminal action.
The criminal shows a gun hidden under his shirt and threatens him by saying: “Get out of here if you don't want to get shot.” The driver pretends to leave, but then accelerates in reverse towards the thief and runs him over.
After getting out from under the car, the criminal gets up and takes out the gun he had in his waistband. Limping, he did not shoot the victims and fled.
The woman's cell phone was not stolen and, according to her, was not damaged. In a statement to police, the nurse said that at the time the robber approached her, she had just left work.
The driver of the van said that the suspect appeared to be between 40 and 50 years old, was wearing a mask and at the time of his escape he left sunglasses and a cell phone at the scene, which were seized by the police.
