A truck driver was crushed to death in the city of Pushchino, Russia, due to a malfunction of his vehicle's hydraulic cargo lifting platform, a police report revealed.

The incident occurred at the loading dock of a chain of retail stores, after the truck arrived to ship the merchandise and the driver began carrying the products into the store.
Images captured by a security camera show the truck parked at the loading dock with the rear doors open.
In an instant, the doors slammed shut and the hydraulic platform began to rise. At that point, the driver allegedly attempted to jump through the opening, perhaps hoping to take shelter in a small space inside the truck, but was unable to do so for a time.
The absence of the driver from was not immediately noticed, even the victim's colleagues went out to smoke and debated where the truck driver could be hiding. But no one would imagine the surprising discovery.
Authorities are investigating the details of the incident.
