Two puppies are now safe and in a new home after horrifying CCTV footage showed the dogs' owners throwing them into a rubbish bin.
Sharon Sebastien, owner of Sebastien's West End Seafood, a Louisiana seafood restaurant, said she received a call from a neighbor who heard noises in his garbage can. Out of curiosity, he looked to see what it was and found a puppy. As he approached, he saw that there were two puppies.
Once Sebastien found out about the dogs thrown into the container, he reviewed the camera footage and turned it over to authorities.
Spencer Cornette, an investigator, was able to locate those responsible after posting a photo of the suspects on social media, receiving a lead.
Once the tip was received, the suspects were identified as Jasmine Mouton, 22, and Kendall Tyler, 22.
Both were arrested on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and are currently in the St. Landry Parish jail.
Since the owners' arrest, both puppies were temporarily taken in and rescued by an employee at Sebastien's West End Seafood.
