A woman was kidnapped by three individuals who were traveling in a taxi on the morning of Wednesday the 22nd in the La Crucita neighborhood of the Santa Elena canton, in Ecuador.
Images of the kidnapping were captured by security cameras, showing the arrival of the captors in a taxi, apparently with adulterated identification plates.
Three men got out of the car and forced a woman, who had just arrived at her residence, to get into the vehicle.
The taxi used in the kidnapping was found hours later, abandoned in a commune. The authorities have not yet found the whereabouts of the captors or the victim, and the relatives of the kidnapped woman have avoided commenting on the incident, although it is presumed that it could be extortion.
Three weeks ago, another woman connected to the trade was kidnapped in similar circumstances and later released. The family is believed to have paid a considerable sum to ensure his safe return.
