An Argentine woman, identified as Natalia Edith González, 39, posed as a nurse and stole a baby from the Barrio Obrero Hospital in Asunción, Paraguay, this Thursday. The hospital's security cameras captured the moment she took the girl.
The mother, a 19-year-old woman who had just given birth, reported that a woman had introduced herself as a nurse and told her that she had to take her daughter for check-ups. Upon realizing that the woman did not belong to the hospital, the staff activated a nationwide search protocol, including the border with Argentina.
González was later located in a market in Asunción, where she changed her clothes to hide her identity. Finally, she was arrested in Nanawa, near the border with Clorinda, and the baby was returned to her mother.
