Scammers promised juicy profits in exchange for having sex with women they had to impregnate.

Hundreds of men in northern India fell victim to a mafia of scammers who promised juicy profits in exchange for having intimate relationships with women whom they had to impregnate.

As an example, the BBC says that a 33-year-old man living in Bihar came across a video on Facebook titled “All India Pregnant Job Service” in early December.

The content suggested an extraordinary opportunity: to earn money in exchange for getting a woman pregnant. Attracted by the promise, the low-income worker accepted the offer. Then followed several orders that led him to lose 16 thousand rupees, approximately 180 American dollars, and total disappointment. In phone calls, the scammers asked you to make payments, such as taxes and security deposits.

The man shared fraudulent documents he received, such as a “Baby Birth Agreement” and pregnancy verification forms, all designed to look official.

Eight scammers were arrested

Indian authorities revealed that this hoax has affected hundreds of people. Although they have managed to arrest eight men and confiscate electronic devices, finding the victims has been a challenge, as many avoid coming forward out of shame.

In conversation with the BBC, one of those affected revealed how he fell into the trap. After clicking on the video, he received a call from a scammer calling himself “Mr Sandeep”. This individual convinced him to sign up for the job, promising lucrative payments for having sex with a woman and an additional reward if he conceived.

The scammers kept Mangesh interested by showing him photos of women and asking him to choose which one to impregnate. The situation became more critical when they demanded additional payments, threatening legal consequences if he did not comply. Finally, the scammer realized this and turned off his phone for days.

Police have noted that the scammers have been active for about a year and have duped hundreds of people. However, shame and stigma have prevented many victims from coming forwar.
