A father in Bogotá murdered his children, ages 4 and 7, due to suspicion of the mother's infidelity.

The events occurred this Monday, October 28, while the minors were in their bed.

A father in Bogotá killed his two children, ages 4 and 7, after alleging alleged infidelity on the part of the mother.

The tragic incident occurred in the Las Ferias neighborhood, in Engativá, where the minors were found without vital signs in their bed. The intervention of the Police Dialogue and Maintenance of Order Unit was necessary to prevent the community from taking justice on its own against the alleged murderer.

Darwin Felipe Beltrán, 31, was arrested and taken to the Engativá Police Station. He had a history of domestic violence and reception, although he had no current arrest warrants.

“The National Police deeply regrets the loss of these two lives in Engativá. We received a call about a fight on public roads,” reported Colonel Pedro Saavedra, operational commander of Citizen Security of Bogotá. Beltrán faces murder charges, and evidence is being collected for the Prosecutor's Office.

The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, expressed his deep regret over the murder and asked that the maximum possible sentence be imposed, in response to the community's outrage.
