A video from a security camera shows the moment when Fabrício Sousa, an ambulance driver for the Dom Expedito Lopes Health Department, was murdered in a convenience store in the village of Gaturiano, rural area of Dom Expedito Lopes, in Piauí. Another man was also killed.
In the video footage, Fabrício is seen in the gas station convenience store. The shooter approaches, draws his gun and hides behind a pillar. He walks away from the victim, still with the gun in his hand, returns seconds later and shoots him in the head, killing him instantly. Fabrício did not realize that the shooter was approaching.
According to the police report, Fabrício Sousa was mistaken for the target of the criminals. After the murder, the criminals saw a man escape, who turned out to be their real victim. Upon realizing the mistake, they executed the real target.
It has been reported that the real targets of the criminals were already being followed from Picos. They were traveling in a car. Upon arriving at the gas station, one of them got off and entered the store, at which point the shooters confused their targets.
