Inspector Amy Scott has become the hero of the New South Wales police, after killing the man who stabbed several people in the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center in Sydney,
In the attack that occurred this Saturday afternoon, six people were tragically stabbed to death.
As the first police officer to arrive at the scene, Inspector Scott ran through the upper level of the shopping center and risked her life when she confronted the 40-year-old man, who had stabbed several people.
The man lunged at Inspector Scott, who shot him dead.
Once the attacker was neutralized and seriously injured on the floor, he performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, along with other victims who were lying on the ground in nearby stores while waiting for reinforcements to arrive.
According to witnesses, police officer Amy Scott had no choice but to shoot. "She had to shoot him because he kept advancing. He had a knife and it was clear that he was not going to stop. He was advancing towards her and was running looking for someone else to attack."
There is still no official information on the identity of the attacker who stabbed six people to death and injured eight others, including a nine-month-old baby, during a bloody day that occurred this Saturday.
