On the afternoon of this Sunday the 28th in the city of Camocim, Brazil, a crime occurred in a restaurant, where councilor César Veras was killed. The politician was having lunch with his family when he was surprised by an attack.
César Veras was known for his work on behalf of the community and his sudden death has shocked everyone in the city.
It was initially reported that an argument had taken place between a waiter and the owner of the restaurant, in which the councilor tried to intervene and ended up being stabbed in the neck. However, the evidence revealed by the establishment's security cameras contradicts this version.
The video clearly shows that the councilor was sitting at the table, in the company of his wife, when he was attacked without provocation by the waiter, who hit him with a knife.
The sudden attack caused serious injuries and despite his wife's desperate efforts to stop the bleeding and subsequent transfer to an emergency center, César Veras succumbed to his injuries.
In addition to the councilor, two other people were injured in the altercation caused by the waiter, who was arrested by the Military Police.
The authorities are investigating the causes that led the waiter to start the fight in the heart of the city.
César Veras was a prominent figure in local politics, having held the position of councilor of Camocim and also presided over the Union of Councilors of Ceará (UVC). Previously, he served as advisor to Deputy Sérgio Aguiar in the Legislative Assembly.
