A Porsche executive who murdered his baby so as not to ruin his career.

Katarina Jovanovic, 28, gave birth in secret and minutes later, threw her newborn daughter from the window of her apartment.

A lawyer for luxury car manufacturer Porsche, identified as Katarina Jovanovic, 28, has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for the murder of her baby, whom she threw out of the window in a desperate attempt to preserve her career.

Chilling details were revealed during the trial at the court in Heilbronn, Germany. Jovanovic hid her pregnancy for fear of the consequences on her career at Porsche.

The prosecutor in the case, Mareike Hafendoerfer, pointed out that the accused chose not to frustrate her job promotion due to motherhood. "She was not willing to sacrifice her career to be a mother," Hafendoerfer argued.

On the day of the tragic event, Jovanovic gave birth alone at home and, in an act of desperation, threw her newborn from a height of 3.7 meters. The little girl was found dead by neighbors after hearing the impact and alerting the police.

The defense, led by lawyer Malte Hoech, assured that Jovanovic was unaware of her pregnancy and was going through an exceptional psychological moment during childbirth.

They claimed that the death was an accident and not a deliberate homicide. Hoech plans to appeal the sentence. Neighbors and colleagues of Jovanovic expressed surprise and sadness.

They described her as a dedicated professional who, due to work stress, had become more reserved and distant. No one suspected her pregnancy or the serious situation she faced.

This case has generated debate about the pressures that women face in the workplace, especially in highly responsible roles.

Jovanovic's conviction highlights the importance of psychological and social support for pregnant women or mothers in demanding work environments.

The tragedy underscores the need to create work environments where women are not forced to choose between their career and motherhood.
