Woman threatened an UBER driver with false accusations of sexual harassment

The threats were recorded by an interior camera of the vehicle.

A woman threatened an UBER driver with a false accusation of sexual harassment after interrupting the trip due to his rudeness. The threats were recorded by an interior camera of the vehicle.

The incident occurred on Revolución Avenue, near Mixcoac, in Mexico City and the video lasts almost six minutes. In it, the woman, visibly upset, is heard instructing the driver in the middle of traffic: “Go ahead, honk, step on him,” and orders him to change lanes, threatening to report him if he does not do so.

When the driver stops and asks her to get off, she responds that she will report him, and he tells her that she can do that too.

The driver contacts the app while she initiates another call to report him. During their conversation, she says that the driver harasses her and does not take her to her destination, adding that he made comments to her about her appearance.

Finally, the woman threatens: “Are you moving forward, or are you going to go to prison for five years?” The video ends without clarifying the outcome of the discussion.

With each second of recording it became a testimony of the vulnerability of transport application drivers to uncontrolled passengers.

The complaints and abuse they face often go undocumented, and this incident became a grim reminder of the potential dangers transportation services personnel face.

It should be noted that so far the Uber platform has not publicly commented on the case against its driver, however, legal retaliation is being demanded on social networks against the woman who faked a case of harassment.
